The 5A Player of the Year in Idaho led the Rams to a 12-0 season and the 5A state championship. Highland defeated Lewiston 44-6 for the crown. He shattered school records to finish the season with an amazing 65.7 completion percentage. Nielson was 224-of-341 for 3,161 yards and 31 touchdowns ... 2003 Idaho Statesman 5A Offensive Player of the Year ... A two-time all-state selection... Was the Old Spice Scholar-Athlete of the year in the state as well... Threw for 3,282 yards and 37 touchdowns, while completing 59.9 percent of his attempts as a senior... Compiled 6,480 yards and 69 touchdowns in his prep career... Best passing game was for 452 yards... Team won state title his junior year and finished second in his senior campaign... Also played basketball and tennis and was fourth in the state in tennis... Born Sept. 10, 1985 in Pocatello, Idaho.
