Vadryn's Game Breakdown

Finally, a blowout.
Long Beach had the sad misfortune of getting the Aggies just 2 days after we lost (got jobbed) vs. UCI. I don't think the Aggies even had time to see who it was they ran over. It was a blowout early and it was really good therapy for 8100 screaming Aggie fans.
I brought my 8 year old to the game and decided to sit in the Bull Pen, trusting it wouldn't get too rough there for kids. But, thanks to Long Beach's performance, I didn't have to worry too much. She fell asleep 10 minutes into the game and woke up late in the second half. I suppose I could blame the Beach for not making a contest out of it, but I don't think it would have mattered who we played tonight.
Spencer Nelson
had a career game with 21 points and 9 boards in just 18 minutes. Friends, that's called productivity! He got most of his play within 3 feet of the rim, and shot a great percentage as a result.
DP played decent but tapered off in the 2nd as the game lost it's seriousness.
Nate Harris
had 8 points and 5 boards in 17 minutes. He worked hard around the paint and scored most of his stuff with put-backs.
Puzey came alive on the boards tonight and played great D. He finished with 10 boards and 5 points and played more than he has in a long time.
Calvin Brown
looked impressive in his short minutes. Nice assists, great energy and good D. He appears to be benefitting by practicing with the likes of Brown.
I could go all the way through the team as everyone got in and all but K.C. and Evans scored, by my count. We shot 50%, outrebounded them by 20 and had a 17 assists to 9 turnovers. It was a solid performance top to bottom and that's cemented the outcome so early in the contest. Defensive intensity was great, but the Beach looked awefully short on weapons. I can't think of anyone besides Hodges that even showed on the radar for them.
Now it's off to the road where we need to finally get our first road sweep.
