Well, make that three games in a row between UC-Irvine and Utah State that have been decided by last second shots...

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - Mike Hood's one-handed layup at the buzzer in overtime gave UC Irvine a 75-73 victory over Utah State Wednesday night.

Stanislav Zuzak led UC Irvine with 20 points as the Anteaters (9-4, 3-1 Big West) extended their home record to 5-0 for the season. The Anteaters have won 31 of their last 34 at home.

Hood scored 17, including 3 3-pointers, and Adam Parada added 13 points for the Anteaters.

The Aggies (12-4, 3-2) are tied with the second most wins in the nation and lost for only the second time in nine games.

Trailing 73-70 in overtime, Utah State's Toraino Johnson hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds remaining to tie the game at 73-73. He led the Aggies with 18 points.

Hood then took a pass from Zuzak at the foul line and drove the lane. The ball rolled into the basket as the buzzer went off.

Utah State's Desmond Penigar, the third leading scorer in the Big West Conference with 16.3 points per game, was held to 8 points.

The Aggies outrebounded UC Irvine 35-30, with Utah State's Spencer Nelson leading all rebounders with 10.
