Fullerton gets rare win over the Aggies

Fullerton - Cal State Fullerton, the last place team in the Big West Conference, broke their seven-game losing streak Saturday night by handing the Aggies their worst loss of the season, and worst loss since last years NCAA second round loss to UCLA.

The Aggies are now 13-4 and 5-3. The Titans second-year coach Donnie Daniels, who is also a former University of Utah assistant, was no doubt awestruck by his team's biggest win since beating Irvine two years ago.

The Titans may have the worst record to date in the Big West, but they are obviously not as poor as their record would indicate. Most of their Conference losses have been by one or two points, much like USU’s losses up to this point.

USU’s Desmond Penigar scored 17 and had nine rebounds for the Aggies, but he made barely a third of his shots from the field, and the Aggies shot only .352 from the field. Brown, usually the Aggies' man when the pressure is on, had four turnovers, including several in Fullerton's late run.

The Aggies get a much needed week of rest before taking on even more lowly Idaho Saturday nigh in Moscow.
